On behalf of the New Zealand and Australian Paediatric Orthopaedic Societies, I would like to invite you and your family to the first combined meeting of these two societies which will be held in Tauranga on the 7th and 8th October 2011. This meeting immediately precedes the combined NZOA-AOA meeting in Rotorua

The general theme of the combined paediatric meeting is Orthopaedics in the Adolescent and Early Teen, the emphasis being on management of some of the difficult problems in this age group but there will be a section on orthopaedics and sports medicine in the adolescent and early teen athlete on Saturday 08.10.11.

There will be ample opportunity during the meeting for discussion with the faculty and also for free paper presentation which do not necessarily have to be on the theme of the meeting.

There will be a welcome function on Thursday 06.10.11 at the Sebel Hotel which is a conference venue and a conference dinner will be held on 07.10.11. There will be ample opportunity for participants to enjoy Tauranga and the surrounding areas including the open spaces, beaches and scenery. Golf, tennis and other sporting activities will also be available.

Although this meeting is a combined meeting of the New Zealand and Australian Paediatric Orthopaedic Societies, the meeting content will be of general interest to all practicing orthopaedic surgeons and registrars in training.
