Siladitya Bhattacharya is a sub-specialist in Reproductive Medicine and holds Honorary Consultant status with NHS Grampian. As a clinical researcher, his main objectives are to evaluate clinical and cost effectiveness of common interventions and to facilitate the implementation of evidence based care. His research interest are: Health services research in reproductive health including randomised trials, epidemiology of reproductive failure and systematic reviews. Ongoing projects in infertility include randomized trials in infertility, systematic reviews, epidemiology of reproductive failure and patient preferences in fertility treatment. Other areas of interest include management of heavy menstrual disorders and the effects of alternative modes of delivery on reproductive outcome and long term health in women.

Tim Child is Senior Fellow in Reproductive Medicine at the University of Oxford and Honorary Consultant Gynaecologist at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford. After work as Research Fellow in the Oxford IVF unit Tim undertook a RCOG subspecialty training programme in Reproductive Medicine jointly between Oxford and McGill University, Montreal for three years. Tim is co-Director of the Oxford Fertility Unit which performs around 1000 fresh IVF cycles per year. In 2007 Tim gained the UK's first license from the government to offer unstimulated IVM treatment, resulting in the delivery of twins that October. Tim's other interests include PCOS, Reproductive Immunology, Recurrent Miscarriage and Laparoscopic Surgery for severe endometriosis.

David Grimes is one of a small number of U.S. physicians Board certified in both obstetrics and gynecology and in preventive medicine. He has had a dual career in clinical ob/gyn and in preventive medicine for the past three decades. His research interests have focused on fertility regulation, technology assessment, sexually transmitted diseases, and clinical epidemiology. He currently serves as Vice President of Biomedical Affairs at Family Health International and Clinical Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UNC.

Dr Metin Gulmezoglu, Switzerland

Dr Metin Gulmezoglu, Switzerland

A. Metin Gülmezoglu works at the UNDP/UNFPA/WHO/World Bank Special Programme of Research, Development and Research Training in Human Reproduction (HRP) at the Department of Reproductive Health and Research (WHO) in Geneva. He is an obstetrician and gynaecologist with experience in research synthesis, clinical trials and knowledge dissemination and transfer. Since 1997, he is the coordinating editor of the Reproductive Health Library, a specialist database in reproductive health disseminated worldwide. His research activities focus on preventing postpartum haemorrhage and implementing evidence-based obstetric practices. Dr Gülmezoglu has been a Cochrane reviewer since 1995 and conducted reviews with Pregnancy and Childbirth, Infectious Diseases, Fertility Regulation and Neonatal groups. He is an editorial team member of Pregnancy and Childbirth and Fertility Regulation groups.

Pisake Lumbiganon is a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Convenor of the Thai Cochrane Network based at Khon Kaen University, Thailand. He has been involved with various WHO Reproductive Health Research projects including many multicentre randomized controlled trials. He is also the co-principle investigator for the SEA-ORCHID project which is a collaborative project (2004-08) between Australia, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines and Indonesia.

Professor Christopher B-Lynch is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecological Surgeon. He was educated at Oxford and St Bartholomew's Medical College, London. He graduated in medicine from Bart's in 1973. After various appointments at Bart's, Paris and Oxford, he became chief assistant to the Queen's gynaecologist at Bart's from 1981 to 1983. In 1984 he was appointed Consultant to the Oxford region based at Milton Keynes General Hospital (NHS Trust). In 1997 he published a description of the B-Lynch Brace suture for post partum haemorrhage. This novel and life saving surgical technique has since been applied around the world and has been a major contribution to improving maternity care. His other main interests include complex gynaecological surgical procedures, gynaecological oncology, minimal access surgery and medico-legal issues.
