Austroads is the association of Australian and New Zealand road transport and traffic authorities. Austroads' aim is to be the Australasian leader in providing high quality information and advice and to foster research, in all aspects of road engineering. Its purpose is to contribute to the achievement of improved Australian and New Zealand transport related outcomes.

Austroads Bridge Conferences are held every two to three years to bring together professionals interested in bridge engineering and management to further develop their knowledge and expertise.

The 7th Austroads Bridge Conference was held in Auckland, New Zealand 26-29 May 2009. This was the first time the Bridge conference will be held in New Zealand.

The conference bought together professionals with an interest in bridge engineering to investigate the progress and future directions for bridge engineering both nationally and internationally.
